Swimming

We spent our Memorial Day weekend at the pool. It appears we may have  a little fish on our hands.

Bowen and Daddy spent most of Saturday and Sunday lounging in the Country Club pool. Bowen loves the water. Once he was in the water he naturally began kicking his legs and squealing with delight. He especially loved the float we bought.

It was safe to say that all that swimming wore Bowen out!

Mother’s Day

We celebrated our first Mother’s Day last weekend. Bowen is currently teething which makes for little sleep in our house, so our day started bright and early.

We played all morning long together. He was a happy boy for getting so little sleep!

When Baker got home Bowen gave me my first Mother’s Day gift –

a beautiful hydrangea in a flower pot with Bowen’s precious footprints on it. The plant was a little bigger than Baker thought it was, so it is now planted in my backyard and looks gorgeous (I’ll have to post landscaping pictures soon). I’m in love with hydrangeas, they were our wedding flower and I’ve always loved them. Baker worked so hard on the flower pot, and Bowen’s footprints are too cute!

6 Months Old

Holy cow! Bowen has been alive for over half a year.

He’s around 16.5 pounds and 25 inches long.

He currently has one tooth, with another on its way.

Bowen had a 6 month cardiology appointment last week since he was born so premature. We’re happy to report that his heart shows no signs of being premature. Our little one is super healthy!

It’s obvious from the pictures, he’s becoming quite the ham. When he sees a camera or phone he knows it’s time to smile.

We’re enjoying each and every milestone. He seems to be doing something new everyday.

I hope the next six months go by a little slower!

The Exersuacer

Bowen has a new favorite activity – the exersaucer. He’s officially obsessed.

His favorite thing on the exersaucer is the rolling thingy – that’s the technical name. It’s super loud because there are small beads inside that hit against the sides of the rolly thing as it spins. Bowen will spin it all day long if you let him.

He uses the back of his hands to stop it as it spins, and he gets extremely frustrated if it doesn’t roll at the correct speed.

Thanks to the exersaucer, we’ve discovered Bowen wants what he wants when he wants it. He regularly pulls on the toys until they’re about to break. He will scream cries of desperation if he wants the toys off the exersuacer. It’s pretty hilarious to watch. We usually give in and just unattach the items from the plastic. What can we say, he’s got us wrapped around his little finger.

He Looks Like You

Every time we look at Bowen we see someone else’s eyes, nose, and eyebrows.

Sometimes we think he looks a lot like me.

Other times he looks just like Baker, especially the eyebrows.

I’m not sure why I don’t have baby pictures of Baker.

This past weekend, we found Bowen’s twin – my Uncle Pat

One thing’s for sure, he’s an awfully cute baby!
