Nellie Lou – 9 Months Old

We’ve made it to nine months. Where has the time gone?!?!

weight: around 17 lbs

height: around 27 inches

size: Still 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

sleep: Her sleeping habits have been a little better this past month. She’s sleeping in her crib more, but still gets up a few times a week.

eat: She’s still breastfeeding on demand, which is around 3 or 4 times each day. She takes one or two bottles at the sitter’s during the day. She eats whatever we are eating and loves carrots, chicken, blueberries, and yogurt.

teeth: Two teeth up top have popped through. We’ve also got two more on top almost through.

moving: She’s crawling faster than ever! She pulls up on everything she sees and loves to stand. She’s been pretty brave lately, and will even let go. She stands for a split second and then quickly lowers herself to the ground.

 

Talking: She still loves to babble. She talks to us all the time and loves to join in on conversations. She says “Dada” and “Daddy” constantly. She loves to say “hi” to everyone we see.

Likes: being held, racing us to the dog food (she’s obsessed), Bowen

Dislikes: being left alone

Nellie Lou – 8 Months Old

With the school year coming to an end in the next month, I can’t help but feel like the first year of Nellie’s life has passed too quickly. My sweet baby is growing up.

weight: around 17 lbs

height: around 26.5 inches

size: Still 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

sleep: Her sleeping habits haven’t been great lately. She’ll sleep through the night for a few days and then she’s up at all hours for a week. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I have a feeling it may be teeth. She fights going to sleep each night. I’m always telling Baker I feel like I’ve been wrestling an alligator for hours by the time Nellie falls asleep.

eat: She’s still breastfeeding on demand, which is around 4 or 5 times each day. She takes one or two bottles at the sitter’s during the day. She eats whatever we are eating for the most part. She loves sweet potatoes, chicken, and gnawing on apple slices.

teeth: Still only two on the bottom.

moving: She’s crawling, and she’s fast! She pulls up on everything, including furniture, people, and our dog.

Talking: She hasn’t added any new words to her list. She likes to babble and hear herself talk and squeal. She did say Mama one day when I walked in from work super late. She said it like she was so relieved that I was finally home. She has said it a few times since, but not regularly.

Likes: watching Bowen, crawling, being held, wrestling with Baker and Bowen

Dislikes: being left alone, falling asleep
